On September 26th, 2018, the Orientation day was organized by the Rijeka Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities, at the Gornja Vežica Elementary school, as part of the RE SPORT project (part of the Erasmus + Sport – Collaborative Partnership) starting at 10 am. Over 200 pupils participated in the event and so did their teachers, professors, employees of the Rijeka Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities and volunteers – students from the Medical High school in Rijeka.
This event was organized with the intention of bringing the persons with disabilities closer to younger generations, but also to promote putting an end to discrimination. This day was also about promoting physical and sporting activities, as well as equality for all. Members of the families, youth and children, organizations that include children and persons with disabilities, but also representatives from the world of sports all took part, because we want to encourage children and young people in accepting persons with disabilities as their equals, both in sports and in everyday life.
