The second week in a row, Rijeka Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities continued with the implementation of swimming for people with disabilities within the Project RESPORT. So, on 24th of October 2017 it is shown the adaptation training with spinal swimming techniques according to the type of disability (Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, mental deficiency).
On 20th of October 2017 Rijeka Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities started with the implementation of swimming for people with disabilities within the Project RESPORT.
On that day training and elements of training of persons with disabilities in the introduction, the main and final part of the training (swimm down) were shown. The main part was based the backstroke style.
Project RESPORT promotes voluntary activities in sport, social inclusion, equal opportunities and raising awareness about the importance of physical activity and promotes health through increased participation and equal access to sport for all.The goal of the project is the implementation of training for persons with disabilities in the partner countries and in the countryside, in the gym and with IT tools. Also, the project involves collaboration with organizations of children and youth in order to foster social inclusion of persons with disabilities and their equal opportunities in sport. It aims to promote the participation of target groups in the area of sports and physical activities as well as support the implementation of the EU principles of good governance in sport, support the European strategy for social inclusion and equal opportunities, EU guidelines for physical activity as well as other documents in this area.
Partners of the Project RESPORT are organizations from eight countries: France, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, Turkey, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia. Lead partner of the project is the Center NAPREJ Maribor and the partner of Croatia is Rijeka Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities. RESPORT makes European sports network for rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. The amount of the total project is € 488,928.99, and the project is co-financed 80% by the European Union through the Erasmus + Sport - Collaborative Partnership, namely co-financed in the amount of 391,143.19 €, of which amount for the Rijeka Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities makes 59,481,00 €.
